A heritage treasure

Given that the Notre-Dame Basilica is one of Canada's greatest heritage treasures, the foundation has planned projects to preserve its historical and architectural value while highlighting its considerable symbolic importance.

Renovate the pipe organ

The Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal's pipe organs were completed and inaugurated in 1891. They were in keeping with the 19th century French symphonic tradition, in the style of Aristide Cavaillé-Coll.

Ensure the
Notre-Dame Basilica's
continuity

Since its construction in 1824-1829, the basilica has undergone regular restoration work, including restoring the interior décor, replacing the floor structure and reinforcing the frame to protect this important heritage building.

Preserve
the archives

The Fabrique de la paroisse Notre-Dame de Montréal's archives are an integral part of its heritage. It would like to make these archives accessible to the public while ensuring that they are properly preserved.
